Common use

Lisinopril is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children 6 years and older, including renovascular, acute myocardial infarction in a clinically stable condition of the patients, heart failure (adjuvant treatment), diabetic nephropathy. The principle of this drug is to relax blood vessels, causing them to expand, it can lead to prevention of occurrence of strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems. Lisinopril is also used after acute myocardial recovery and is used with other drugs (eg, "water pills" / diuretics, digoxin) to treat heart failure. This drug belongs to a class of medications called ACE inhibitors.

Dosage and direction

Take medicine for adults 1 time per day. The dose is determined individually, depending on the evidence, the state of renal function and concomitant therapy. Typically, the initial dose is 2,5-5 mg, the average maintenance dose - 5-20 mg, the maximum daily - 80 mg.

Precautions

Treatment is carried out under regular medical supervision (water-electrolyte balance). During treatment requires monitoring of blood pressure, protein level and plasma potassium, urea nitrogen, creatinine, renal function, blood picture, body weight and dieting. Missed dose
